Deborah G. Corlett joined the firm in 1993 and became a partner in 2003. She emphasizes estate planning, trust administration and probate law and is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law by The State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization since 2003.

Ms. Corlett was born in Santa Barbara, California, attended Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology, and then earned a Masters of Arts degree in biology from the University of California at Santa Barbara. Ms. Corlett earned her J.D. from Cornell University Law School in Ithaca, New York, in 1990.

Ms. Corlett is a member of the State Bar of California, and the Sonoma County Bar Association. She currently is on the Sonoma County Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service committee and is a past president of the Trusts and Estates Section of the Sonoma County Bar Association. She is also a member of the Adjunct Faculty at Santa Rosa Junior College, teaching in the Paralegal Studies Program. She is a member of the Redwood Empire Estate Planning Council and has served on the Boards of Directors for the Windsor Boys & Girls Club, the Santa Rosa Boys & Girls Club and the Windsor Chamber of Commerce and twice on the SITE Council for Windsor Middle School. Prior to coming to O’Brien Watters, she was an associate with the law firm of Mullen & Henzell, LLP in Santa Barbara.

Ms. Corlett taught biology at the junior high school, high school and junior college levels. (Ms. Corlett holds a lifetime California Teaching Credential for Secondary Levels in Biology and Chemistry.) Following teaching and prior to attending law school, she was the Executive Assistant to the owner of Fancher Oil Company in Denver, while also serving as office manager and conducting in-house land services.
